Christina Kyriacou, from our Counter Fraud Services team, won the 2016 Unsung Hero Award, which recognises individuals working in the insurance industry who make a clear contribution to their team and go the extra distance to help others. Christina was nominated for the award as she’s a true model employee, focused and passionate about detecting and preventing fraud at both application and claims stage, and always with a smile.

‘Business Matters’ is a local awards event that recognises, rewards and celebrates all the successful businesses and professional individuals in the south east.
We were delighted to win the award for 'Large Business 2016’. The judges said they were "impressed with the company ethos, growth and innovative measures used to enhance employee and customer relations and expectations".

The Gatwick Diamond Business Awards celebrate innovation and inspiration at work, and recognise those who have demonstrated a real commitment to the south east economic area.
We won 'Employer of the Year' for two years running and in 2016 we won the award for 'Developing People for Business Success'.
The judging panel agreed that we demonstrate a firm commitment to developing our people, and that we have systematic and effective processes in place for identifying development needs and linking these to our business objectives.

This category is designed to spotlight investment in training and education of its people by an insurer that has resulted in tangible, measureable benefits for the insurer’s employees, business partners, and/or end-clients – and for the business as a whole.

We were delighted to win the 2015 'Employer of the Year' award and the Guernsey Awards for Achievement, which are in their 30th year and celebrate business success on the island with six award categories.
The judges commented that we're "an organisation that describes itself as a people business and is clearly living its values to develop and support its staff, inside and outside of work, to drive the company forwards. 1ST CENTRAL has shown how investing in local talent can reap rewards for a business".

Celent’s Model Insurer Awards aim to answer the question – ‘What would it look like for an insurer to do everything right with today’s technology?’
It’s a tall order and there are some huge insurance brands that enter every year – but our submission was awarded ‘Highly commended’ for our technology initiatives in 2014.
We strive to stay ahead of the curve and are always looking for ways to improve business processes and customer experience through the use of innovative technology.
Best rebrand of a digital property - Bronze
The Transform Awards are the industry’s definitive celebration of excellence in rebranding and brand repositioning - and 1ST CENTRAL is delighted to have received a Bronze award at the 2015 event in the category of 'Best rebrand of a digital property'.
The judges said: "They appear to have made all the right decisions, going responsive, introducing a CMS and bringing the brand up to date. The business results speak for themselves, and growing in a competitive market has made their investment worthwhile."
