Childcare vouchers

Childcare vouchers are a government-backed scheme, designed to help parents manage their childcare costs via a ‘salary sacrifice’ arrangement. This means you give up part of your salary in return for vouchers to the equivalent value. This will be deducted from gross pay, meaning you make a saving by not paying the usual tax and National Insurance Contributions (NIC).

We offer every employee an Easit rail discount card, which entitles you to a 15% discount on Southern Rail peak and off peak fares (including daily, weekly or monthly tickets). Certain restrictions apply.

Season ticket loan

Season ticket loan

Once you’ve successfully completed your probation period with us, you’ll be able to take advantage of a season ticket loan. We’ll provide you with a loan for the purchase of a quarterly or yearly season ticket for rail, bus or car parking services, which will be repaid on a monthly basis from your salary.

Discount gym membership

Discount gym membership

As a 1ST CENTRAL employee, you’ll be entitled to receive a discount of £10 per month for Gold membership at the Olympos Gym in Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and East Grinstead. Gold membership gives you unlimited use of the gym, fitness classes and health suite, as well as unlimited squash, tennis/badminton courts and swimming. Members can also bring a non-member to the health suite for just £1.

Holiday Plus

Holiday Plus

Our Holiday Plus scheme is an opportunity for employees to buy up to five additional days of annual leave on top of your usual holiday entitlement. For example, if you’re moving house, getting married or just love going on as many holidays as possible, you can take advantage of Holiday Plus. There are two opportunities each year to purchase this additional holiday entitlement – November and May.

After starting work with us, you’ll be invited to register on our 1ST CENTRAL Lifestyle website. This allows all employees to take advantage of many discounts on high street vouchers, travel websites, food and entertainment, health and leisure and much, much more. You’ll be sent an email one month after joining the company with a link for you to register. Then you can start shopping.

Generous holiday entitlement

Generous holiday entitlement

Your holiday entitlement will be detailed in your employment contract. Employees in the ‘employee grade’ will receive an additional day’s holiday per year during their first three years of employment. This will automatically increase when you reach your anniversary date. Where an employee works on a part-time basis, they will receive a pro-rata equivalent of the above and their holiday and public holidays will be calculated in hours.
