Are you looking for a new career with a fast-growing, dynamic company? Well look no further! We need a Governance Coordinator to join our Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO) department in Haywards Heath.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the various functions within the department to ensure they fulfil their various objectives, providing administrative, technical and project support.

Job-specific responsibilities:

•    Support the key OCEO functionaries (Company Secretariat, Compliance, Data Protection, Internal Audit and Risk) where required 
•    Support the Risk Officer in the administration of the Risk Management system, maintaining the Corporate Risk Register and Department Risk Register
•    Supporting the Risk Officer in production of reports and dashboards  
•    Administer the regulatory and reporting calendar
•    Act as a central coordination point for information sharing in the OCEO
•    Arrange, coordinate and take minutes at OCEO meetings
•    Assist with specific regulatory and business projects that may require governance function input as required
•    Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards and regulations at all times including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

What we’re looking for:    

•    Experience of working in a similar role in the general insurance industry (useful but not essential)  

•    Ability to question and obtain information from others
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Excellent communication, both verbal and written
•    Problem solving, with the ability to translate issues and find resolutions 
•    Good organisation, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
•    Good numeracy and literacy
•    Strong intellect
•    Competent use of IT and software (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

•    Grounding in Corporate Governance good practice
•    Grounding in principles of Risk Management
•    FCA rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice (including TCF)
•    Knowledge of trends in the insurance industry and best practice in risk, compliance and Corporate Governance

•    Develops and utilises a network of senior contacts, providing advice on risk across the organisation
•    Gains cooperation and support by clear explanation of facts and issues
•    Actively participates in business initiatives and project teams
•    Takes responsibility for own performance and development
•    Demonstrates regular and effective use of subject matter knowledge, both as a user and as a provider
•    Seeks to challenge and improve current processes and approaches
•    Demonstrates in-depth understanding of the key factors influencing the business internally and externally
•    Emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
•    Works with a high degree of autonomy within agreed parameters
•    Effectively plans and organises own work balancing short and long term needs
•    Embed and incorporate the company values
•    Confident in presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner
•    Strives to deliver performance targets and drive business improvements to contribute to the success of the business
