Senior Commercial Manager

Haywards Heath / Salary: £70,000 to £75,000 (depending on experience) / Department: Marketing / Hours: Monday to Friday (35 hours)

Fancy a new career in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace? We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our expanding team in Haywards Heath.
If successful, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the commercial partnership strategy as well as having the responsibility of ensuring day-to-day business relationships are well managed. You will look after the development of strategic relationships with each aggregator, ancillary and affinity partner to optimise performance and profitability, whilst ensuring product governance requirements are properly understood and implemented appropriately.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Recommend robust commercial strategies to the Head of Commercial that are well thought through and focus on optimising performance
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial and Market Strategy as well as the branding team to pro-actively develop strategic partnerships (existing and new), to improve customer value and profitability
  • Have excellent leadership skills and experience managing a team of partnership managers - set SMART objectives and set up active and relevant personal development plans
  • Put in place appropriate engagement with cross functional teams to support delivery of business objectives
  • Ensure execution of individual Partnership Plans & Non-Tech Income Plan with alignment to agreed commercial strategy
  • Have a pro-active role in leading and implementing tactical commercial initiatives ensuring that financial implications are considered and business cases are robust
  • Responsibility for the setting and managing of the Partnerships budget
  • Work with the Executive and Senior Management team to ensure that commercial implications are considered when devising or reviewing business strategies and initiatives
  • Lead relationships with external suppliers to ensure the quality of service provided and adherence to SLA’s
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the industry and identify potential opportunities for business growth
  • Management and delivery of key performance indicators
  • Ensure positive and excellent communication with direct reports, team members, colleagues, stakeholders and other internal business areas
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times (including TCF)
  • Any other reasonable duties as required
  • B2B and B2C marketing experience required, within the insurance industry
  • Experience presenting to Board Director level both internal and external
  • CIM Qualification and/ or a relevant degree
  • Experience managing large, complex commercial relationships and new business development
  • Proven previous experience of commercial management and product development
  • Significant experience (10 years +) in the insurance industry
  • Conduct complex negotiations with and influence external suppliers and stakeholders successfully at the highest levels
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to take quick confident decisions at a strategic level to move things forward
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to demonstrate complex information in an easily digestible format to key stakeholders
  • Be confident in prioritising and balancing competing work streams

Knowledge & Behaviours
  • Excellent understanding of motor insurance products, the motor insurance industry and the different distribution channels
  • Detailed understanding of 1ST CENTRAL’s corporate strategy, business objectives and operations
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including TCF)
