Statistical Analyst

Haywards Heath / Salary: £27,000- £36,000 / Department: Motor / Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Our Motor team is on the hunt for a talented Statistical Analyst to join them in our Haywards Heath office. 

The successful candidate will provide analysis and insight to the Statistical Modelling Manager and Analysis Team Leader by producing recommendations and reports to increase the profitability of the company. Part of the role will involve building new predictive models as well as monitoring, maintaining and updating existing statistical models. If successful you will be a key player in the motivation and development of the Graduate Analysts within the Statistical Modelling Team.
 

Skills, Knowledge and experience 

• Production of statistical models to emulate factors influencing business performance and profitability using a variety of tools and techniques
• Monitor, maintain, update and improve existing predictive models
• Ability to produce timely and accurate information for management decision-making purposes
• Liaise with all departments on data issues, business effects influencing company reports, business processes and operational issues
• Ability to analyse business issues in order to find solutions to and make recommendations to correct and/or improve profitability
• Train, develop & guide other graduate analysts in the production of statistical models which can be used to increase company performance
• Implement department timescales on any standard report production, ad hoc business queries, and external requests
• Produce research that will improve business practice
• Produce structured and well evidenced reports to the business
• Represent the Statistical Modelling Manager/ Analysis Team Leader in meetings as and when required
• Travel to group locations on an ad hoc basis (currently Manchester, Gibraltar and Guernsey)
• Solid knowledge of motor insurance products and the motor insurance industry 
• Excellent understanding of the business objectives and operations
• 2:1 (predicted or achieved) in a numerical undergraduate discipline
