Racing ahead with Sebastian Priaulx
Seb made the transition to single-seater racing for the first time this year, following a hugely successful start to his burgeoning career in the Ginetta Junior Championship, taking 10 race wins, 22 podium finishes and the 2016 Winter Series title across two years of competition. True to form, Seb kicks off 2018 with a series of promising finish times during his winter tests and has now qualified for the 2018 F4 British Championships.
We first became Seb's title sponsor in March last year and look forward to supporting him as he gets behind the wheel of his Arden Motorsports car to start the new season. The year ahead certainly looks positive, with strong performances secured at the first two official pre-season championships.
Always a true racer at heart, 17-year-old Seb started out behind the wheel of go-karts before moving on to racing cars. As the son of European Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx, Seb is following in his father’s footsteps, securing several wins and finishing runner-up in the prestigious Ginetta Junior Championships.
At 1ST CENTRAL we firmly believe in the importance of nurturing young talent, both within our business and beyond, which is why the development of Seb’s career is so important to us. We hope that he will go on to establish a significant role in the future of the motor sports industry and are extremely pleased to be part of his journey as he races round the track.
Investing in Seb’s career and the motorsports industry more generally is an important area for us. The structure of a pit crew is a great metaphor for our business; with each person occupying a specific role, whether that is developing a new claims system, writing a new policy or guiding a customer through the claims process. Without all those different components working together, car insurance simply wouldn’t work. And that’s what we strive to achieve – a simple, end-to-end car insurance product that works for our customers and answers their needs.
