Award-winning training and education programme
Our commitment to nurturing growth and investing in employees’ professional development has been recognised at the 2015 Business Matters Awards.
We won the award in the category of Training and Education at the ceremony on Friday, which was held at the Hilton London Gatwick.
The annual awards aim to recognise, reward and celebrate successful businesses and professional individuals in the local area.
Cat Harris, Learning & Development Team Lead, said: “We recognise that we can’t be a success without a happy, skilful, motivated workforce. And in order to achieve this, we need to encourage a positive learning environment by dedicating time and money to help our employees achieve their full potential.”
Here at 1ST CENTRAL, we’re proud of our learning and development programme. When a new starter joins us, they take part in an Experience Day to learn all about the company and what we do. This is followed by a bespoke induction to meet their needs in order for them to carry out their role effectively.
Throughout their time here, employees are encouraged to progress their professional development by signing up for external courses, and we also have a variety of internal courses developed by our very own Learning & Development team.
In addition, we offer work shadowing to give people a chance to learn about another department and how their role fits within the company.
And each year we run a Learning at Work week where our people can learn new skills and have fun at the same time.
