Seb Priaulx finishes Ginetta season as Vice-Champion
We believe in nurturing young talent and that's why we're thrilled that Sebastian Priaulx, 1ST CENTRAL sponsored Junior Ginetta driver, was crowned vice-champion of the Ginetta Junior Championship this Sunday after a terrific performance at Brands Hatch.
As always, Sebastian displayed phenomenal skill in his final race weekend. On Saturday, in his opening race, he gained pole position and finished in first place and on Sunday, delivered two more top-six finishes, despite an untimely spin-off.
Sebastian Priaulx: “We came to Brands Hatch ready to fight until the very end and that’s exactly what we did. I took the championship down to the penultimate race of the season and came away as the vice-champion, which I’m really pleased with.”
It’s been an astounding year for the 16-year-old, overcoming off-track distractions and even sitting his GCSE’s in the middle of the season. All of those distractions couldn’t side-track Sebastian as he managed a remarkable 13 podium finishes, seven of which were victories, as well as eight pole-position starts.
Andy James, UK CEO, said “It’s been a real pleasure to work with such a level headed and committed young man over the course of this season. At just 16-years old, Seb has achieved so much in such a short time and there’s no doubt in our mind that the future is very bright for such a talented driver. We all look forward at 1ST CENTRAL to continuing to support Seb in the next step of his racing career.”
