It’s vital that the company always remains compliant and is aware of any changes in legislation or policy.
Our Legal & Compliance teams form part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO) and make sure we’re following the required standards and managing risk at all times. In simple terms, they keep things ticking over and ensure everything is running smoothly.
The Compliance team provides advice to the business to ensure that we understand the regulatory environment we work in and the implications of the decisions we make every day. The team also oversees and reviews our processes to ensure sure we are putting our customers at the heart of what we do.
Meanwhile, our Legal team advises the company on the drafting and review of all contracts and insurance policy documents. It conducts and defends any legal actions, liaises with external legal service providers and external regulators and deals with trademark related matters.
Risk exists at different levels within our business, whether this is corporate or strategic, departmental or project level. Our risk management environment is key to improving business performance, so our Risk function, within the OCEO, ensures all significant risks have been identified, reported and managed effectively.
Internal Audit reviews processes in place throughout the business in order to ensure they are designed appropriately and are operating effectively.
The Company Secretariat team, made up of the Company Secretary and Assistant Company Secretary, is responsible for producing meeting agendas and minutes, maintaining company registers, as well as overseeing the approval of annual accounts and submitting them to Companies House.
